About Us
Our history
MIND began as a response to what we witnessed every day in our clinical and community work—families struggling to find support, young people feeling misunderstood, and caregivers carrying heavy burdens with too few resources to turn to. We saw the gaps in the healthcare system firsthand: services that were too expensive, waitlists that were too long, and programs that simply didn’t exist for the people who needed them most. We knew we could do more. MIND was created to give back to our community, to offer access where access was limited, and to build programs that fill the holes in care with compassion, understanding, and evidence-informed support. Our nonprofit grew out of a shared belief that everyone deserves help, connection, and a chance to thrive, and that if the system couldn’t provide it, we would step forward and create it.
Our mission
The mission of MIND is to improve the lives of individuals with mental illness through care, education, and research. We advance this mission by developing community-based programs that promote inclusion, emotional well-being, and support for individuals and families affected by neurodevelopmental, psychiatric, and neurological conditions.
Our Vision
Our vision is a community where every individual, regardless of diagnosis, ability, or background, has access to compassionate support, meaningful connections, and evidence-informed resources that enhance mental health and quality of life. We strive to reduce stigma, promote understanding, and build programs that empower individuals and families to thrive.
